Annette M. Contre, 89, of North Smithfield, died October 22, 2016, at the St.Antoine Residence. Born in Woonsocket, she was the daughter of the late Romulus and Adeline (Metivier) Contre.
Ms. Contre worked for thirty-four years as a cook for the Diocese of Providence, retiring in 2002, and previously worked as a mender for the former Glenark Mill. Annette was a communicant of Our Lady Queen of Martyrs Church, Woonsocket, a member of both the St. Josephs and North Smithfield Senior Citizens groups and a member of the YMCA fitness club in Woonsocket. She volunteered at the St. Antione Residence and at the Woonsocket Senior Center for the SHARE program.
She is survived by her brother, Roger Contre and his wife Lorraine of Pascoag and her sister, Pauline Desaulniers of Bristol. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Paul and Leon Contre and her brother in law, Andre Desaulniers.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, October 29, 2016 at 10 AM in Our Lady Queen of Martyrs Church, 1409 Park Ave., Woonsocket. Burial will follow in St. John the Baptist Cemetery, Wrentham Rd., Bellingham, MA. Calling hours are omitted.
