Arthur P. Plante

Arthur P. Plante, Jr., 75, of North Smithfield, died October 19, 2017 in the Hope Hospice Palliative Care Center, Providence. He was the husband of Carol (Lamoureux) Plante. Born in Danielson, CT, he was the son of the late Arthur, Sr. and Florence (Fitzpatrick) Plante.

Mr. Plante taught science at the Woonsocket High School, retiring in 1996. He also coached golf and girls basketball. Art was an avid fisherman, hunter and golfer. He loved the outdoors and spent most of his summers camping with his family in Montana and Wyoming.

Besides his wife Carol, he is survived by two daughters, Patricia Degnan and her husband William of North Smithfield and Christine Greco and her husband Doug of Sutton, MA; a brother, Jack Plante of Raynham, MA and four grandchildren, Will and Nicholas Degnan and Andrew and Gianna Greco.

His funeral will be held Monday, October 23, 2017 at 9 AM from the Holt Funeral Home, 510 South Main St., Woonsocket with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM in Our Lady Queen of Martyrs Church, 1409 Park Ave., Woonsocket. Burial will follow in St. Charles Cemetery, Farm St., Blackstone. Calling hours are Sunday from 2 5 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Alzheimers Association, 245 Waterman St. #306, Providence, RI 02906.
