J. Carol (Terry) Angus, 85, beloved mother and grandmother, died Wednesday September 20, 2017, at Mt. St. Rita Health Center in Cumberland after a long journey with Alzheimers Disease. Carol was the wife of the late Richard O. Angus. Born in Fall River, she was the daughter of the late James and Gladys (Grinnell) Terry.
Carol was dedicated to her family and is survived by her four children; Richard O. Angus Jr. of Moosup, CT, Alan Angus of Bridgewater, MA, Carl Angus of Lakeville, MA, Lauren Angus (Wood) of Norfolk, MA; her brother and sister-in-law, James P. Terry Jr and Sally (Harlow) Terry of Cumberland, grandchildren Christopher, Nichole, Nathan, Jordan, Ally and Liam and one great grandchild Gabrielle. She was predeceased by her sister Phyllis (Terry) Morse.
Carol received her bachelors degree from Bridgewater State Teachers College and was very proud of her involvement in public service as a science and physical education teacher for the Dighton school system, a member of the Freetown Lakeville School Committee and Tuesday Club as well as a realtor for M.J. McNally Realty. She loved being a part of the Assonet community and was an active member of the church, the Wheaton College Wind Symphony and a variety of choral and community groups.
A memorial service will take place on Sunday, October 15 at 1:00 at the United Church of Assonet, 9 North Main St. Assonet, MA. Calling hours and a reception in the church parish hall will follow the service from 2:00 4:00. All are welcome to attend calling hours whether or not you choose to attend the memorial service.
