Elinor Maloney Obituary

Elinor G. (Garrity) Maloney, 93, of Blackstone, MA passed away January 2, 2018 in St. Elizabeths Rehab Facility, East Greenwich. She was the wife of the late James J. Maloney. Born in Worcester, MA, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Gertrude (Dwyer) Garrity.

She worked as an administrator for twenty years at Wrentham Development Center. Elinor resided at Wyndemere Woods for many years before her passing. She was an avid reader, enjoyed traveling throughout New England with her husband, and being with her family. She was a communicant of St. Pauls church.

She is survived by two sons, James and Daniel Maloney, both of Millville; six daughters,

Jane Krylowicz and her husband William of Mashpee; Catherine Maloney and her partner Sheilla of Hallandale Beach, FL; Elizabeth Maloney of North Bethesda, MD; Irene Leonard and her husband Dan of Jamestown; Sara DePesa and her husband Michael of Georgetown, ME; and Pat Maloney of Hopedale; eight grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren. Besides her husband James, she was preceded in death by her brother, Edward Garrity and three sisters, Joan Kennedy, Patricia Normandin and Betty Donilon. Elinor was preceded in death by her son, Terrance Maloney.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, January 6, 2018 at 11 AM in St. Pauls Church, 48 Saint Paul St., Blackstone, MA. Burial will be private. Calling hours are omitted. Arrangements are under the direction of the Holt Funeral Home, 510 S. Main St., Woonsocket. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to The Salvation Army 855 Asylum Avenue, Hartford, CT 06105.
