Georgette Baker

Georgette (Fortin) Baker, 86, passed away peacefully at Saint Antoine Residence on October 10, 2017. Born in Pawtucket she was the daughter of Romeo and Rosanna Fortin and the beloved wife of the late Rene J. Baker. She grew up in Norton, MA and lived in Pawtucket and Chepachet, RI.

She was a dental assistant in Woonsocket until retirement. Georgette was a very active person who enjoyed skiing, bowling, golfing, fishing, and cooking. She also loved the cats that were a major part of her life.

She is survived by her four children: Ronald Baker and his wife Janice of Chepachet and Jupiter, FL, Carolyn Maney and her husband Brian of Chepachet, RI, Daniel Baker of Brinnon, WA and Alan Baker of Dunedin, FL. She was the loving grandmother of Jesse and Scott Baker and great-grandmother to Katherine, Zachary, Robert, Vince, and Sarah. She was the sister of Maurice Fortin of Inverness, FL and Diana Geier of Wilmington, DE. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Paul, Henry and Phillip Fortin and sister, Jean Pellisey.

Her funeral will be held on Wednesday, October 18, 2017, starting with calling hours at 9 AM in the Holt Funeral Home, 510 South Main St., Woonsocket with a Mass of Christian burial at 11 AM in the St. Antoine Chapel, 10 Rhodes Ave, North Smithfield. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to RI Alzheimers association, 245 Waterman Street #306, Providence, RI 02906.
