Judith J. Peloquin

Judith J. (Martel) Peloquin, 72, of Orlando, FL and Cumberland, RI died October 31, 2017, in Hope Hospice Palliative Care in Providence. She was the wife of Charles Peloquin whom she married May 1, 1965. Born in Woonsocket, RI, she was the daughter of the late Lucien and Helen Rita (Rivet) Martel.

She worked at many jobs in her life including being a property manager at Chateau Clare Apartments in Woonsocket and as an executive secretary at the Hyatt Regency Grand Cypress in Orlando. Judy was a true foodie at heart and owned CJs Deli in Woonsocket for nine years. Cuisine was her favorite art form and she continued to feed and educate the masses for the rest of her life as a licensed nutritionist and certified herbalist. She was a soprano in the choir at Holy Family in Woonsocket and St. James Cathedral in Orlando for years. She participated in many groups at St Lukes United Methodist Church and was a communicant St. Judes Marionite Church. She was also a mixed media artist and won awards including first place at Crealde Art Center in Winter Park, FL. She loved to travel the US and Europe, and loved spending summers at her beloved Spring Lake. She was an amazing Mother and Memere.

Besides her husband Charles, Judith is survived by their daughters, Christine Peloquin and her girlfriend Heather Earnest of Eustis, FL and Jodie Lerner of Altamonte Springs, FL; three grandchildren, Claudia Lerner, Nathaniel and Nicholas Fernandes, two sisters, Rochelle Byers of Ave Maria, FL and Elizabeth Martel of N. Providence.

Her funeral will be held Tuesday, November 7, 2017 at 9 AM from the Holt Funeral Home, 510 S. Main St., Woonsocket, RI with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM in St. Philips Church, 622 Putnam Pike Greenville, RI. Burial will follow in St. John the Baptist Cemetery, 314 Wrentham Road, Bellingham, MA. Calling hours will be held, Monday from 4 7 PM in the Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Second Harvest Food Bank of Central Florida, 411 Mercy Drive Orlando, Florida 32805.
