Kenneth R. Cote, 73, of Mapleville, died November 7, 2017 at Rhode Island Hospital, Providence. He was the husband of Ellen (Cournoyer) Cote whom he married April 25, 1998. Born in Woonsocket, he was the son of the late Theodore and Frances (Guilmain) Cote.
He worked as a welder for the former Bird Machine Inc., for 37 years prior to his retirement. Kenneth loved fishing, watching baseball and NASCAR, painting and woodworking. In his younger years Kenneth loved to go line and square dancing and was known by his handle, Coyote in his CB radio club.
Besides his wife Ellen, Kenneth is survived by his children, Kenneth Cote, Leo Cote, Kelley Cote, Wendy Cote, and Crystal Mane, all of Woonsocket, and step-son John Gouin of Mapleville; seventeen grandchildren, four great-grandsons and one great-granddaughter; two brothers, David Cote of FL and Francis Cote of Blackstone; a sister, Beatrice Gill of VT; as well as several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brother, Joseph Cote and two sisters, Theresa Peck and Noella Baptist.
His funeral will be held Friday, November 10, 2017 at the Holt Funeral Home, 510 S. Main St., Woonsocket, beginning with visitation at 4:00 PM followed by a service at 6:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, Division of Development The Jimmy Fund P.O. Box 849168 Boston, MA 02284-9168.
