Marguerite O. Desilets

Marguerite O. (Therien) Desilets, 87, of Kennesaw, GA and formerly of Mapleville died May 18, 2017 at home. She was the wife of the late Robert A. Desilets. Born in Woonsocket, she was the daughter of the late Mederic and Blanche (Boucher) Therien.

Mrs. Desilets worked in several area mills and finished her career working for the RI School Lunch Program. She was an active member of St. Josephs Church, assisted her husband in many civic activities, loved her family and was the ultimate caregiver.

She is survived by two children, Marc Desilets of Mapleville and Michelle Paine of Kennesaw, GA; a brother, Leo Therien of Millville; two sisters, Rachel Duquette of Pascoag and Therese Charette of Chepachet, nine grandchildren and two great grandchildren. She was the mother of the late Robin Mombourquette and sister of the late Paul Therien.

Her funeral will be held Wednesday, May 24, 2017 beginning with visitation at 9 AM in the Holt Funeral Home, 510 South Main St., Woonsocket, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 AM in St. Josephs Church, 1200 Mendon Rd., Woonsocket. Burial will follow in Resurrection Cemetery, West Wrentham Rd., Cumberland. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to RI Catholic Respite Program, 1 Cathedral Square, Providence, RI 02903.
