Matthew Watkins Obituary

Matthew P. Watkins, 37, formerly of Easthampton, died October 6, 2016 at Cooley Dickinson Hospital in Northampton. He was the son of Philip Watkins, of Palmer, MA and Susan (Lawnicki) Sicard, of Maitland, Fl.



Matt worked as an Avionic Mechanic in the US Army after discharge he proudly volunteered to be of service to his fellow veterans at the VA Hospital in Leeds. He was an avid sports fan. Matt was raised and educated in the Easthampton School Systems. He also lived for short periods in Palmer, MA, Warwick, RI and Leeds, MA.



Besides his parents, he is survived by his son Ethan Watkins of East Brookfield, MA; and his sisters, Carrie Brown, and her husband, Tom of Maitland, FL, Victoria Watkins of Palmer, MA and a brother, Christopher Watkins of Palmer, MA. He also leaves two nephews, Zachary and Thomas Brown of Maitland, FL.



A Memorial Service will take place on October 22, 2016 at 10:30 AM at Soldier On, 421 North Main St., Building 26, Leeds, MA 01053. Private family funeral services took place last week, with arrangements under the direction of the Holt Funeral Home, 510 South Main St., Woonsocket, RI. Memorial contributions may be made at wesoldieron.org, Soldier On, 421 North Main St. Bldg. 6, Leeds, MA 01053.
