Melva R. (McMahon) Allaire, 91, of Smithfield died October 20, 2016 in Brookdale Senior Living, Smithfield. She was the wife of the late Edgar Allaire. Born in Woonsocket, she was the daughter of the late James and Mary (Addy) McMahon.
Mrs. Allaire worked over twenty years for the former Amperex, North Smithfield. She was a member of several local church choirs and enjoyed needlework, especially cross stitching and knitting.
She is survived by three children, Tom Allaire and his wife Jocelyn of Lincoln, James Allaire and his wife Paulette of Smithfield and Sandra Clendenen of Weymouth, MA; six grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren. She was the mother of the late Robert and Charles Allaire and the sister of the late James McMahon, Dorothy Cunningham, Mary Schey and Eleanor Fogarty.
Her funeral will be held Tuesday, October 25, 2016 beginning with visitation at 9 AM in the Holt Funeral Home, 510 South Main St., Woonsocket, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 AM in Holy Family Church, 414 South Main St., Woonsocket. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the charity of ones choice.
