Miles S. Brooks, 56, of Victory Highway, died February 15, 2017 at Landmark Medical Center, Woonsocket. He was the husband of Jane VanEeckhoute. Born in Woonsocket, he was the son of Douglas Kershaw and the late Nancy (Sanderson) Kershaw.
He was a self employed landscaper for many years, as well as an auto mechanic for Crosson, after serving in the United States Army. Miles was an avid coin collector, loved cars, the outdoors, and gardening.
Besides his wife Jane, he is survived by his son, Brian Hardy of Pawtucket; two daughters, Melissa Difonzo of Florida, and Jessica Hammond of Exeter; two sisters, Bethany Paiva of Johnston, and Debra Fitzpatrick of New Hampshire; a brother, Robert Kershaw of Chepachet; three grandchildren, Skylar Difonzo, Paige Hardy, and Jordan Hutnak; as well as several nieces and nephews.
His funeral will be held Sunday, February 19, 2017 beginning with visitation at 1 PM in Slatersville Congregational Church, 25 GreenSt., Slatersville, RI, followed by a funeral service at 3 PM. Burial will be private. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Holt Funeral Home, 510 South Main St., Woonsocket. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Slatersville Congregational Church.
