Norman Wilby Obituary

Norman Wilby, 87, of Woonsocket, died March 1, 2017 in The Friendly Home, Woonsocket. He was the husband of the late Ida (Lucchesi) Wilby. Born in Johnston, he was the son of the late Arthur and Aldea (San Souci) Wilby.

Mr. Wilby worked ten years as a Quality Control Inspector for the former Mine Safety, Esmond, retiring in 1993. He was a communicant of St. Agathas Church.

He is survived by two stepdaughters, Gail Chauvin and her husband Roger of Cumberland and Punta Gorda, FL and Kathleen Masnyk and her husband Ores of Punta Gorda, FL; a brother, Langdon Wilby of Hollywood, FL; four step grandchildren and six step great granddaughters and many nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Arthur and Thomas Wilby, Anita Beauimer and Edith Cluen.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, June 30, 2017 at 10 AM in St. Agathas Church, 34 Joffre Ave., Woonsocket. Burial will follow in St. Charles Cemetery on Farm Street in Blackstone. Calling hours are omitted. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Holt Funeral Home, 510 South Main St., Woonsocket.
