Raymond J. Ray Cutting, 71, of Woonsocket, died August 4, 2017 in his home. Born in Woonsocket, RI, he was the son of Evelyn (Frechette) Cutting of Woonsocket, and the late Addison Cutting.
Ray was a blaster for Bella Construction Company. He served in the US Army during the Vietnam War. Ray was a recipient of the Combat Infantryman Badge serving the 196th light infantry brigade and finished his service in the 25th infantry division. He also served in the National Guard where he earned his Air Assault Badge. Ray was a member of the VFW and an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Besides his mother, Evelyn, he leaves his son, William J. Cutting of No. Providence; two stepchildren, Karen Kay of Cumberland and Kevin Kay, and their mother, Jackie Kay of Lincoln; his sister, Carolyn Jarret, and her husband James of Woonsocket; and his grandson, Carson Cutting. He was predeceased by his stepdaughter, Kimberly Kay, and his sister, Christine Pullen.
His funeral will be held Friday, August 11, 2017, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM in Our Lady Queen of Martyrs Church, 1409 Park Ave., Woonsocket. Burial will follow in RI Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 301 South County Trail, Exeter, RI. Calling hours are omitted. Arrangements are under the direction of the Holt Funeral Home, 510 South Main St., Woonsocket.
