Rita Moyen Obituary

Rita D. (Latraverse) Moyen, 89, of Woonsocket, died December 5, 2017 in the Woonsocket Health Rehabilitation Centre. She was the wife of Normand L. Moyen and celebrated their 66th wedding anniversary in April of this year. Born in and a lifelong resident of Woonsocket, she was the daughter of the late Phillipe and Noella (Boisvert) Latraverse.

She worked at General Instruments, Woonsocket prior to working for Phillips Amperex, North Smithfield for over twenty years. Rita loved growing flowers in her yard, knitting, crocheting and playing cards with the couples (her/Normands friends). Above all she was a loving wife, devoted mother and a proud grandmother and great-grandmother.

Besides her husband Normand, Rita is survived by three daughters, Michelle McClure and her husband Greg of Hopkinton, MA; Celeste Buchanan and her husband Paul of Somerset, MA; Nicole Aucoin and her partner Marcel Girard of Blackstone, MA; two granddaughters, Erin McClure and Jacqueline Buchanan as well as one great grandson, Duncan Thompson. She was preceded in death by her sister, Helene LaBarre.

To celebrate her life, her funeral will be held Monday, December 11, 2017 at 9 AM from the Holt Funeral Home, 510 S. Main St., Woonsocket, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM in St. Agathas Church, 34 Joffre Ave., Woonsocket. Burial will follow in St. John the Baptist Cemetery, 314 Wrentham Road, Bellingham, MA. Calling hours are Sunday from 4 - 7 PM in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimers Association, RI Chapter, 245 Waterman St. Suite 306, Providence, RI 02906.
