NORTH SMITHFIELD - Ruth S. (Todd) Croutear, 94, of Hanton Road, died June 5, 2016, in Friendly Nursing Home. She was the wife of the late Ernest W. Croutear. Born in Woonsocket, she was the daughter of the late William and Maria (Marcroft) Todd. She lived in Woonsocket prior to moving to North Smithfield in 1960.She worked as an assembler for 10 years at A.T. Cross in Lincoln, retiring in 1983. Ruth attended St. John's Episcopal Church in Millville, where she was active in their altar guild, as well as a member of the Order of the Eastern Stars #3, Woonsocket. She was formerly a member of the St. Mark Senior Citizens Club, Woonsocket, and a current member of the Precious Blood Senior Citizens.She is survived by two sons, Dean Croutear and his wife Lorraine of Woonsocket, and David Croutear and his wife Cheryl of Pascoag; a daughter, Nancy King and her husband Richard of Keystone Heights, Fla.; four grandchildren, Kerri Croutear, Dr. David King, and Matthew and Daniel Boudreau; and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by four brothers, Frederick, Harold, William and Arthur Todd, and four sisters, Ethel Bailey, Alice Cook, Nellie Naismith and Marion Todd.Her funeral will be held Wednesday, June 8, 2016, at 10 a.m. in St. John's Episcopal Church, 49 Central St., Millville. Burial will follow in Union Cemetery, Smithfield Road, North Smithfield. Calling hours will be held on Tuesday from 4 to 7 p.m. in the Holt Funeral Home, 510 South Main St., Woonsocket.
