William P. Fontaine, 76, of North Smithfield, died June 9, 2017 in St. Antoine Residence, North Smithfield. He was the husband of Kelley (Chang) Fontaine whom he married June 8, 1974. Born in Woonsocket, he was the son of the late Leo and Gertrude (Bradley) Fontaine.
Mr. Fontaine, aka the mayor, worked in sales and management at various worldwide industries including Mr. Christmas, Bali Blinds, and Replacement Auto Parts. William was a car enthusiast who enjoyed drag racing and auto repair. Much of his time was spent at home with his beloved family and pets.
Besides his wife Kelley, he is survived by a son, Matthew Fontaine of Lowell, MA; a daughter, Michelle Desrosiers of Blackstone; a sister, Shirley Gillooley of Woonsocket and three grandchildren, Aidan and Myra Desrosiers and Matai Fontaine.
Visitation will be held Friday, June 16, 2017 from 6-8 PM in the Holt Funeral Home, 510 South Main St., Woonsocket. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimers Association Rhode Island Chapter, 245 Waterman Street, Suite 306, Providence, RI 02906.
