Erika A. (Mahar) Paterson

Erika A. (Mahar) Paterson, 40, of Blackstone, passed away March 3, 2024, with her husband by her side, after a courageous and hard-fought battle with lung cancer. She was the wife of Rob Paterson, whom she married on October 12, 2013. Born in Newport, RI, she was the daughter of John "Jack" Mahar of West Warwick, RI, and the late Sandra (Liddell) Mahar.

Erika was a 2001 graduate of Coventry High School, and earned her Associate's Degree from the Community College of Rhode Island. She worked as a lunch lady for Bellingham Public Schools, and also worked weekends at Bert's Breakfast in Uxbridge. She enjoyed cooking, walking her dog Chase, and trips to the family lake house in St. Albans, ME. Above all else, Erika loved being a mother, and caring for her children and family.

Besides her husband, Rob, and father, Jack, she leaves her children, Price and Phil Paterson, of Blackstone; two brothers, Ryan Mahar of West Warwick, RI, and John Mahar of Exeter, RI; Stepfather Mike Mann of Coventry, RI; and five nieces and nephews, Landon, Gunnar, Joe, McKenzie, and Owen.

Her visitation will be held Friday, March 15, 2024 from 4-7 PM in the Holt Funeral Home, 510 South Main St., Woonsocket, RI.
