Amanda B. Rowey, 29, of Woonsocket, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family May 21, 2017 in Rhode Island Hospital, Providence. Born in Milford, MA, she was the daughter of Anthony and Fadia (Al-Onaini) Rowey.
Amanda attended Globe Park School and graduated from Woonsocket High school in 2008, she lived at Avatar Group Home in Woonsocket for the past two years with her Avatar family. Amanda loved music and Disney movies and any social activities involving her loving friends and family.
Besides her parents, she is survived by brother, Anthony AJ Rowey Jr. of Millbury, MA; sister, Mary Ann Tardif and her husband, Brian of Woonsocket; nephew, Jeffrey Tardif of Woonsocket; Uncle John Rowey of Woonsocket, grandmother, Shahra Al-Onaini of Syria, uncles, Joseph, Mofid, and George Al-Onaini of Syria, Fadi Al-Onaini of Dubai; aunt, Matil Harraka of Australia; as well as many other cousins and family members.
Her funeral Mass will be held Friday, May 26, 2017 at 10:00 AM at St. Basil the Great Church, 15 Skyview Dr., Lincoln, RI. Burial will follow in St. John the Baptist Cemetery, 314 Wrentham Road, Bellingham, MA. Calling hours are Thursday from 4-7 PM in the funeral home, 510 South Main St., Woonsocket, RI. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to The St. Basil the Great Church, Building Fund, 15 Skyview Dr., Lincoln, RI.
