Audrey J. Parkin

Audrey J. (Pennington) Parkin, 98, of Pascoag, died August 12, 2019 in Overlook Nursing Rehabilitation Center. She was the wife of the late James E. Parkin, Sr. Born in Hamilton, ON, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Elsie (Warburton) Pennington.

Previous to her marriage, Audrey worked in the office of the Taft Peirce Company, yet she spent most of her life as a homemaker. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, St. Andrews Chapel in Fairmount, St. Johns Episcopal Church in Millville, and St. James Episcopal Church in Woonsocket. She was also a member of the Mr. and Mrs. Club at St. Andrews and St. Johns, as well as a member of their choirs.

She is survived by her three children, Joyce Meleleu and her husband George W. Meleleu, Jr. of Mapleville, James Parkin, Jr. and his wife Janie of Katy, TX, and David Parkin and his wife Brenda of Sealy, TX; two grandchildren, George A. Meleleu and Lisa Moore and her husband Frank, as well as, several great grandchildren.

Her funeral service will be held Thursday, September 5, 2019 at 10 AM in the Holt Funeral Home, 510 South Main St., Woonsocket. Burial will follow in Union Cemetery, Smithfield Rd., North Smithfield. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Friends of the North Smithfield Animal Shelter, P.O. Box 653, Slatersville, RI 02876.
