Bertha M. Cavedon

Bertha M. (Calderwood) Cavedon, 94, of Burrillville, died January 23, 2018 in Overlook Nursing Rehabilitation Center. Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late Theron and Natalie (Marden) Calderwood.

A Woonsocket High School graduate, she received her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the RI School of Design, and her Masters degree in Education from RI College. She also studied at Assumption College and Bryant College. Bertha was an Art teacher for Cumberland Public Schools for 23 years. She was a member of the RISD Association, as well as the Senior Citizens of North Smithfield.

She is survived by a son, Joseph Cavedon of North Smithfield; and six grandchildren. She was the mother of the late Richard Cavedon.

Private funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Holt Funeral Home, 510 South Main St., Woonsocket.
