Carol Ochaba Obituary

Carol A. (Murphy) Ochaba, 72, of Woonsocket, passed away February 11, 2019 at home. Born in Woonsocket, RI, she was the daughter of the late James and Edith (Ferris) Murphy.

She worked as a waitress for Chans Restaurant of Woonsocket for over 46 years, prior to her retirement. Carol was known as a coupon queen, and was even recognized with local and national attention for her coupon cutting, in the 1980s. Carol was very excited to unexpectedly be a part of Tom Bradys candy commercial, even though it was aired with her asking who he was. She never forgot after that, and religiously watched the Patriots following that commercial.

She is survived by her son, Steven Ochaba of Woonsocket; three grandchildren, Kyle Ochaba, Tiffany Lee Ochaba, and Holly Ann Ochaba; and four great-grandchildren; as well as a sister, Shirley Van Dyke of Crescent City, FL. She was the sister of the late James H. Murphy and Eileen Berard.

Memorial services for Carol will be announced at a later date. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Holt Funeral Home, 510 South Main St. Woonsocket.
