Claudia J. Tenori

Claudia J. (Barr) Tenori, 72, of Wakefield, passed away in her home on August 20, 2017. She was the wife of the Joseph A. Tenori. Born in Woonsocket, RI, she was the daughter of the late Robert Barr and Phyllis (Mowry) Carlson.

Claudia graduated from Woonsocket High School in 1965 and then attended Boston Chandler School for Women, graduating in 1967. After graduation she embarked on a 35 year insurance career, beginning with Amica Insurance headquartered in Providence to some of the most dynamic agencies in the state to include Starkweather and Sheply, Insurance Underwriters and Babcock and Halliwell, where she retired as Senior Vice President of Operations. Claudia found the insurance business fascinating and excelled in it. More importantly she loved to mentor the young and inexperienced. The programs she implemented have produced many of todays insurance professionals.

Claudia loved to live. She loved her husband, her dogs, biking, gardening, winters in Florida and beach bars from Maine to Key West. She asked that all her friends remember as she was, and give thanks for a wonderful, full life.

Besides her loving husband, Joe, Claudia leaves behind her siblings, Jeffery Barr of Wakefield; Lynn Dumont of Bellingham and sister in law, Susan Barr of Wakefield; nephews, Kory Ferrier of Falmouth and Kyle Barr of Boston; niece, Sarah Barr of Attleboro; and her cherished godchild, Ramie DaPonte of Rehoboth, MA. Claudia was preceded in death by her brother, Derek Carlson.

Per the familys request, private funeral arrangements were held. Arrangements were under the guidance of the Holt Funeral Home, 510 S. Main St., Woonsocket, RI. In memory of Claudia you may make a donation to Animal Rescue Rhode Island P.O. Box 458Wakefield RI 02880.
