Gertrude Hebert Obituary

Gertrude M. (Dupont) Hebert, 84, of Woonsocket, passed away November 3, 2017 in The Friendly Home, Woonsocket. She was the wife of Leon P. Hebert of Woonsocket, whom she married June 24, 1950. Born in Slatersville, she was the daughter of the late John and Mary Ann (Raymond) Dupont.

Gertrude always felt very blessed to have her children, and spent most of her time as a homemaker. She loved her dog, Puddles, and enjoyed volunteering for the local Salvation Army. She was kind and selfless and would give to others without hesitation. She put the care of others always before herself.

Besides her husband Leon, she is survived by two sons, Leon Paul Hebert and his wife Mary Jayne, and David Hebert, all of Woonsocket; one daughter, Denise Rostanzo and her husband Stephen of Dayville, CT; as well as three grandchildren, Stephanie Hebert, and Derek and Ashley Lemery. She was the sister of Theresa Dumas and the late John Dupont.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, November 11, 2017 at 10 AM in Sacred Heart Church, Second Avenue, Woonsocket. Burial will follow in St. James Cemetery, Old River Rd., Manville. Calling hours are omitted. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Holt Funeral Home, 510 South Main St. Woonsocket, RI 02895. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Salvation Army, 30 North Main St., Woonsocket, RI 02895.
