Grace Virginia Williams

Grace Virginia (Demaine) Williams, 92, of Middletown and formerly of North Smithfield, died October 22, 2018 in Newport Hospital. She was the wife of the late Charles S. Williams, Jr. Born in Smithfield, she was the daughter of the late William and Grace (Winsor) Demaine.

Mrs. Williams worked as a waitress for several local restaurants, as an assembler for Uvex and as a salesperson for Tupperware, Avon and Mason Shoes. Grace was a member of the Eastern Star, Aquidneck Grange, RI State Grange and the National Grange.

She is survived by her daughter, Betsey Williams-Peckham and her husband John of Middletown; three grandchildren, Julia, Hollis and Orrin; and her sister, Claribell Dionne of Smithfield, RI. She was the sister of the late William Demaine.

Her funeral will be held Friday, October 26, 2018 beginning with visitation at 10:30 AM followed by a service at Noon in the Holt Funeral Home, 510 South Main St., Woonsocket. Burial will follow in Union Cemetery, Smithfield Rd., North Smithfield. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hope Hospice, 1085 North Main St., Providence, RI 02904.
