James Dunning Obituary
James Samuel Dunning was born on August 10, 1958. He was the son of Donald E. Dunning and the late Ann (Barlett) Dunning. His siblings are Donna Ann D. Laptew and Donald K. Dunning (Donnie). He is the half brother of Donald E. Dunning, Jr., Margaret Mary Dunning and Edward James Dunning.
James had been married to Denise (Jordan) Dunning for 15 years, with whom he had three sons: James (Jamie) Dennis Dunning, Brandon Jordan Dunning and Charles Kenneth Dunning who preceded Jimmy in death. James had been a welder for 17 years with Electric Boat.
James loved his sons and was proud of the young men that they have become. His son Jamie, who is married to Angel, is a mechanic for a Miracle Chrysler dealership in Gallatin, Tennessee. Brandon is engaged to Mickaellah Plogger and will be married on the 16th of June 2017 in Rhode Island. Brandon served six and a half years in the army leaving the service in November of 2016, with rank of Army Specialist. He is now working for AT T, and resides in Augusta, Georgia.
James was known for his smile and his easy way of making people comfortable and happy around him. He never asked for a lot out of life, but he did love family. He had a great love for motorcycles. He loved the ocean and was an excellent swimmer.
His funeral will be held Wednesday, May 24, 2017 at 5 PM in the Cornerstone of Faith United Methodist Church, 1081 Main St., Coventry. Burial is private. There are no calling hours. Arrangements are under the direction of the Holt Funeral Home, 510 So. Main St., Woonsocket.
