Jeannine Hood Obituary
Jeannine A. (Sweeney) Hood, 73, of Oak Hill Rd., died November 14, 2017 in Hope Hospice Palliative Care Center, Providence. She was the wife of James S. Hood, whom she married June 22, 1985. Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late Alfred and Lucille (Savard) Sweeney.
Mrs. Hood worked as a Records Assistant for Bryant University and was previously an Executive Assistant at Mt. McKinley Bank in Alaska. Jeannine was an accomplished painter who once taught painting and craft classes at the Country Mouse in North Smithfield. She was also an amazing cook who found great joy in sharing her delicious creations with family, friends and colleagues. Jeannine was also an avid reader, a trivia buff and an all-around master of the English Language.
Besides her husband Jim, she is survived by four daughters, Danielle St. Laurent and her husband Dave of North Pole, AK, Nicole Brouillette and her partner John Crilley of Warwick, Renee Freudenberger and her husband Karl of Windham, ME and Michelle Richard and her husband Chris of Charlestown, RI; a brother, Robert Sweeney of Smithfield, nine grandchildren and two great granddaughters. She was the grandmother of the late Hannah Belleville.
A committal service will be held Monday, November 20 at 10:45 AM in RI Veterans Cemetery, 301 South County Trail, Exeter. Calling hours are Sunday from 4 6 PM in the Holt Funeral Home, 510 South Main St., Woonsocket. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hope Hospice and Palliative Care, 1085 North Main St., Providence, RI 02904.
