Leo Bergeron, Sr Obituary

Leo E. Bergeron, Sr., 84, of Woonsocket, died December 23, 2017 in the Philip Hulitar Inpatient Center, Providence. He was the husband of Jeannette (St. Pierre) Bergeron, and the late Janet (Boucher) Bergeron. Born in North Smithfield, RI, he was the son of the late Leo and Alice (Bachand) Bergeron.

Leo was an Army veteran, serving in the Korean War. He worked for American Tourister, and later Hyman Brickle Son, before retiring in 1995. Leo was an avid walker.

He leaves his children, Brenda Delorme and her husband, Roger, Ronald Bergeron and his wife, Lisa, and Denis Bergeron, all of Woonsocket; four brothers, Roland and Rene Bergeron, both of No. Smithfield, Henry Bergeron of California, and Robert Bergeron of Woonsocket; two sisters, Jeannette Lemire of No. Smithfield, and Rita Couture of Pascoag; six grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; a great great grandson; and many nephews and nieces. He was predeceased by his son, Leo E. Bergeron, Jr., and his sister, Pauline Paine.

His graveside service will be held Friday, December 29, 2017 at 11 AM in St. John the Evangelist Cemetery, 63 Church Street, North Smithfield, RI. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hope Hospice and Palliative Care, 1085 No. Main St., Providence, RI 02904.
