Leonard Johnson, 69, of Blackstone, died at home on June 22, 2018 surrounded by his loved ones. He was the husband of Beverly (Bergeron) Johnson. Born in Providence, RI, he was the son of the late Leonard and May (Fiero) Johnson.
He was the owner of LJ Son Asphalt Paving until 2012, when his son took over.
Besides his wife, Beverly, he is survived by his son, Michael Johnson and his wife Hollie of North Smithfield; and his three daughters, Ann Marie Johnson of Providence; Julianne Payeur and her husband Michael of Woonsocket; and Christine Mancini and her husband Michael of Blackstone, MA; four sisters, Ida; Peggy; Alice and Kathy; one brother, William; five grandchildren, Jennifer, Brittany, Kristen, Katie and Sarah; and three great-grandchildren, Kylie, Nicole and River. He was predeceased by two brothers, Charlie and Paul Johnson.
He loved traveling to Alaska, the Bahamas and Las Vegas, as well as taking frequent trips to Mohegan Sun. He was an avid New England sports fan and especially enjoyed the Patriots football team.
His funeral will be held Tuesday, June 26, 2018 beginning with visitation from 9 to 10am in the Holt Funeral Home, 510 South Main St., Woonsocket, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30am in St. Josephs Church, 1200 Mendon Rd., Woonsocket. Burial will follow in St. James Cemetery, Old River Road, Manville. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, P.O. Box 849168, Boston, MA 02284-9168.
