Lionel L. Duquette, Jr., 94, of North Smithfield, died Friday, January 5, 2018 in St. Antoine Residence, North Smithfield. He was the husband of the late Vivianne L. (Cote) Duquette who passed forty-five days earlier on November 22, 2017. Born in Woonsocket, he was the son of the late Lionel L., Sr. and Florence (Crepeau) Duquette.
Duke retired as an Air Force Master Sergeant after serving 27 years, where he was a Jet Engine Mechanic at Quonset Point. He enjoyed golf and traveling, but his greatest joy in life was his wife Vivianne.
He is survived by his daughter, Louise OBrien and her husband Daniel of Slatersville; two step-sons, Marc Savard of West Warwick and Luc Savard and his wife Barbara of Newtown, PA; five grandchildren, Erin and Patrick OBrien, Shana and Brieanna Savard, and Geniene Smith; as well as two great-grandchildren, Tristan and Kyrie Smith. He was preceded in death by his three brothers Conrad, Eugene, and Louis Duquette.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, January 20, 2018 at 11 AM in St. John the Evangelist Church, 63 Church St., Slatersville. Burial will be private. Calling hours are omitted. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Disabled American Veterans at www.dav.org
