Marguerite J. Plante

Marguerite J. (Daignault) Plante, 89, of North Smithfield, died December 30, 2017 in St. Antoine Residence. She was the wife of Elphege Plante whom she married in 1948. Born in Woonsocket, she was the daughter of the late Raoul and Dorila (Champoux) Daignault.

She was the owner of the former Margies Beauty-Rama. She loved being a hairdresser, and especially loved to dance.

Besides her husband Elphege, Marguerite is survived by a grandson, Nicholas Lorenger of Franklin, MA; three sisters, Theresa Kennedy of North Smithfield, Cecile Sauvageau of Concord, NC, and Claire Lorange of Smithfield. She was the mother of the late Michelle Loranger, and the sister of the late George, Gerard, and Andre Daignault, as well as Rita Crepeau, Gerarda McGee, and Marie Anne St. George.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, January 12, 2018 at 11 AM in the Chapel at St. Antoine Residence, 10 Rhodes Avenue, North Smithfield. Burial will be private. Calling hours are omitted. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Holt Funeral Home, 510 South Main Street, Woonsocket. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the St. Antoine Residence Patient Activities Fund, 10 Rhodes Ave, North Smithfield, RI 02896.
