Marla Carchia Obituary
Marla A. (OHara) Carchia, 70, died peacefully on January 20, 2019. She was the wife of the late Joseph Carchia, Sr. and the daughter of Peter OHara and Thelma (Aldrich) OHara. She was born in Rhode Island and was a resident of Slaterville most of her life.
Marla was a quality control technician for the Polytop Corporation for over 25 years, retiring in 2009. She was an avid gardener and was always so proud of her historically recognized home that was over 300 years old. She has been battling illness in the later stages of life, but that didnt stop her from living life to the fullest and speaking her mind. A true one of a kind person.
She leaves her son, Joseph Carchia, Jr., two daughters, May and Jennie Carchia, two brothers, Kurt and Timothy OHara, and two sisters, Kathleen OHara-Monfette and Karen Nadem-Mollaei. She was predeceased by two brothers, Brian and Keith OHara.
Her funeral will be held Saturday, January 26, 2019 beginning with calling hours from 10 AM till Noon, followed by a short ceremony in the Holt Funeral Home, 510 South Main St., Woonsocket. Burial will follow the ceremony in Union Cemetery, North Smithfield that will be attended by immediate family.
