Mary Menard Obituary

Mary A. (Thompson) Menard, 92, of Woonsocket, died June 9, 2017, in Landmark Medical Center, Woonsocket. She was the wife of the late Jean Paul Menard. Born in Charlestown, MA, she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Theresa (Schelfhaudt) Thompson.



She worked as an Inspector for Amperex in North Smithfield for 26 years. Mary was a VFW member and self-proclaimed chocoholic who enjoyed crossword puzzles, card games, singing and was an avid animal lover.



She is survived by her three daughters, Carol Blanchette of North Smithfield; Linda Wood of West Warwick; and Kathleen Bousquet of Woonsocket; eight grandchildren, Brian, Kim, Kristine, Jean, Dave, Rene, Bob and Jodie, eleven great-grandchildren, Tyler, Parker, Ella, Madison, Sophie, Abby, Ben, Ryan, Owen, Eva and Ethan. She was preceded in death by her son Jean Menard and her sister Marjorie Bolduc.



Her funeral will be held Tuesday, June 13, 2017 at 9:30 AM from the Holt Funeral Home, 510 S. Main St., Woonsocket with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 AM in St. Josephs Church, 1200 Mendon Rd., Woonsocket. Burial will follow in Precious Blood Cemetery, Rathbun Street, Woonsocket. Calling hours are Monday from 4 7 PM in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Alzheimers Association Rhode Island, 245 Waterman Street, Suite 306, Providence,RI02906 or to The Holiday Retirement Center, Activity Fund, 30 Sayles Hill Rd, Manville, RI 02838.
