Normand Boucher Obituary

Normand G. Boucher, 77, of North Smithfield, passed away October 26, 2017, at Home Hospice Care of Rhode Island. He was the beloved husband of the late Lise T. (Simoneau) Boucher whom he wed September 4, 1961. Born in Magog, Quebec, Canada, he was the son of the late Laurent and Germaine (Thivierge) Boucher. Normand emigrated from Canada to Woonsocket in 1967, where he resided until 2008.

He owned Central Dry Wall Company of Woonsocket, retiring in 1994. He greatly enjoyed his athletic pursuits--including hockey, baseball, golf, and skiing. His past memberships included Local 94 Carpenters Union, PGA Oldtimers Hockey, Rehoboth Country Club, Cercle Laurier, and Italian Workingmens Club (IWC). Until her passing in 2007, Lise and Normand often spent time between Woonsocket and their treasured condo in North Miami Beach, Florida. Happy Norm will be remembered smiling by those who knew and loved him, and as a loving, generous, devoted man of integrity.

Normand is survived by two sons, Pierre R. Boucher and his wife Karen of Woonsocket, and Brian J. Boucher and his wife Melissa of Haddonfield, NJ; one daughter, Manon St. Germain and her husband David of Bangor, ME; one daughter-in-law, Nicole Boucher of North Smithfield; four brothers, Real, Rene, and Yves Boucher of Magog, Quebec, and Mario Boucher of Woonsocket; nine grandchildren, Courtney, Benjamin and Olivia St. Germain, Danielle, Matthew, Riley, Nolan, Tyler and Brianna Boucher; as well as one great-grandson, Chase Boucher. He is preceded in death by his son, Bruce Boucher and his brother, Jean Claude Boucher.

His funeral will be held Monday, October 30, 2017, at 7:45 AM from the Holt Funeral Home, 510 South Main St., Woonsocket, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9 AM in Saint John Vianney Church, 3587 Diamond Hill Road, Cumberland. Burial will follow in St. Jean Baptiste Cemetery on Wrentham Road in Bellingham, MA. Calling hours are Sunday from 2 - 5 PM in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hope Hospice Palliative Care, 1085 N. Main St., Providence, RI 02904.
