Robert G. Champagne

Robert G. Champagne, 89, of Cook Hill Rd, Danielson, CT and formerly of Woonsocket, died March 24, 2018 in Day Kimball Hospital in Putnam, CT. He was the husband of the late Eileen M. (Silvia) Champagne. Born in Pawtucket, RI, he was the son of the late Harvey and Fedora (Charpentier) Champagne.

An Army Veteran of the Korean War, Mr. Champagne worked as a salesman for Rodman Ford for fifteen years and was the owner, with his brother Charles, of the former Champagne Bros. Lincoln-Mercury, North Smithfield. He was an avid freshwater and saltwater fisherman and enjoyed working on the family farm.

He is survived by a son, Robert Champagne and his wife Jocelyn of Pascoag; a daughter, Michelle Lyon and her husband Joshua of Danielson, CT; a sister, Reinette Sonnenberg of Bellingham; six grandchildren and two great granddaughters. He was the brother of the late Charles Champagne.

A funeral service will be held Tuesday, April 3, 2018 at 11 AM in the Holt Funeral Home, 510 South Main St., Woonsocket. Burial will be private. Calling hours are Mondayfrom 5 - 7 PM.

Robert found his most peace and comfort spending time with his dogs during difficult times.
