Robert Hebert Obituary

Robert D. Hebert, 82, of Woonsocket, died Saturday, December 22, 2018, in Landmark Medical Center. He was the husband of the late Vivian (Cabana) Hebert. Born in Woonsocket, he was the son of the late Marcel and Florida (Desmarais) Hebert.



Mr. Hebert was a Navy veteran and Purple Heart Recipient, serving during the Korean and Vietnam Wars, and retiring as Master Chief Petty Officer. He later worked as an investigator for the State of Rhode Island Attorney Generals Office, and for the Office of Veterans Affairs. Mr. Hebert was a member of the Cercle Laurier, the IWC, Amvet Post II, and DAV Chapter 17. He enjoyed golfing, and playing quoits and cribbage.



He leaves two sons, William Hebert of Ormond Beach, FL, and Mark Hebert of Austin, TX; three daughters, Jacqueline Firestone of Colorado Springs, CO, Patti-Jo Thompson and Michelle Hebert, both of New Castle, PA; two stepsons, Mark and Alan Lebrun, both of Woonsocket; 11 grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his sister, Suzanne Core.



His visitation will be held Saturday, December 29, 2018 beginning at 4 PM., followed by a service with Military Honors at 7 PM in the Holt Funeral Home, 510 So. Main St., Woonsocket. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Rhode Island Veterans Home, Volunteer Department, 480 Metacom Avenue, Bristol, RI 02809.
