Robert E. Milette

Robert E. Milette, 85, of Woonsocket, died June 16, 2017 at home surrounded by his family. He was the husband of the late Pauline L. (Vadeboncoeur) Milette. Born in Woonsocket, he was the son of the late Herve T. and Beatrice (Desmarais) Milette.

A 1950 graduate of Mt. St. Charles Academy, Robert was a Korean War Navy Veteran and a Lieutenant with the RI National Guard. He worked as a Tool Maker for Taft Pierce Mfg. in Woonsocket and Federal Products in Providence. He was a former Scoutmaster of Troop 13 and committeeman of Troop 1121 Woonsocket for many years and had also served as Assistant District Commissioner for the Thundermist District. In 1985 Robert received the Silver Beaver Award for distinguished service to young people within a BSA local council, and the Providence Diocese Bronze Pelican Award for Catholic Scouting. He was a lifelong communicant of All Saints Parish.

He is survived by five children, Diane Rivers and her husband Jackson Rivers, Sr. of Woonsocket, Kenneth Milette of Woonsocket, Christopher Milette and his wife Julie of Frisco, TX, Sharon Badeau and her husband Kenneth of Woonsocket, and Brian Milette and his wife Kristen of Attleboro, MA; nine grandchildren, Heather, Victoria, Trinity, Gwen, Corey, Ryan, Matthew, Jason, and Kara. He was the brother of the late Normand and Roger Milette.

His funeral will be held Friday, June 23, 2017 at 9 AM from the Holt Funeral Home, 510 South Main St., Woonsocket with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM in All Saints Parish, 323 Rathbun St., Woonsocket. Burial, with Military Honors, will follow in St. John the Baptist Cemetery; 314 Wrentham Rd., Bellingham, MA. Calling hours are Thursday from 4 - 8 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Boy Scouts of America, Narragansett Council, P.O. Box 14777, East Providence, RI 02914.
