T. Neal McQuade, 86, of Blackstone, MA, passed away Wednesday, August
2, at the Beaumont Rehabilitation and Skilled Nursing Center in
Northbridge, MA after a brief illness. He was the devoted husband of
the late Pauline (Daigle) McQuade, whom he married on April 16, 1955.
They were together for 52 years before her passing in 2007. Neal, as
he was familiarly called, was born in Woonsocket, RI; the youngest
child of the late William T. and Mary (Hewitt) McQuade.
Mr. McQuade retired from the Blackstone-Millville Regional Jr.-Sr.
High School in 1990 after 35 years of teaching. He also previously
taught in Northbridge, MA and Woonsocket, RI. Once retired from
teaching, he worked as a draftsman for Unique Homes in Medfield, MA
for 23 years. Neal attended Providence College and graduated in 1953
with a bachelors degree in History and English. Since then he has
remained connected to the college through his children, grandchildren
and regular visits.
Neal McQuade was a humble, generous, faithful man, who dedicated his
life to his family. He was the loving father of Timothy McQuade of
Harrisville, the late Eileen Roy, Maureen Brushett and Christine Berthelette, both of
Blackstone,Karen Dumais of Pascoag, and John McQuade of Naperville,
Illinois. He is also survived by twelve grandchildren and one
great-granddaughter. He was the brother of the late William and James
McQuade, Zita Carriere, Sal Deslauriers, Eileen Furman and Betty
Flynn.
His funeral will be held Tuesday, August 8, 2017 at 9 AM from the Holt Funeral Home, 510 South Main St. Woonsocket, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM in Our Lady Queen of Martyrs Church, 1409 Park Ave., Woonsocket. Burial will follow in St. Charles Cemetery, Farm St., Blackstone. Calling hours are Monday from 4 7 PM.
