Theodore E Lemieux, Jr. died peacefully at Overlook Nursing and Rehabilitation Center on Sunday, June 17, 2018 at 74 years old.He was born to the late Theodore E. and Barbara (Brackett) Lemieux Sr. He leaves his wife, Jeannine, they were married for 48 years. He also leaves Doris, his beloved and loyal Labrador retriever.
Ted served in the Marine Corps during Vietnam and the Cuban Missile Crisis. In his heart, he never stopped being a Marine. He was, till his last day, true to the Corps. After he was discharged from the Corps, he worked on jet engines at Quonset Point. From there, he joined the North Smithfield Police Department. During that time, he attended at night and graduated from Bryant College, earning his degree with honors, in Criminal Justice. He retired after 30 years of serving the Department with honor and dignity. Ted was a life member of Manville Sportsman Club and Wallum Lake Rod Gun Club.
Besides his wife, he is survived by his brother, Raymond Lemieux, and his wife, Peggy of Appleton, WI; a sister-in-law, Anna-Marie Menard and her husband, Steve of North Smithfield; a nephew, Joshua Menard of Woonsocket; a niece, Meghan Viscusi and her husband, Michael of Kingston, RI; two brothers-in-law, Raymond Desplaines of West Virginia, and Jacques Desplaines and his wife, Shirley of Woonsocket. He also leaves his step-brothers, step-sisters, and their families.
Private funeral services were held under the direction of Holt Funeral Home, 510 South Main St., Woonsocket. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimers Association, 245 Waterman St. #306, Providence, RI 02906.
