Theodore "Ted" F. Sayles, 75, of Old Field Dr., died December 29, 2017 in Landmark Medical Center, Woonsocket. He was the husband of Jeannine J. (Gaouette) Sayles whom he married February 19, 1966. Born in Woonsocket, he was the son of the late Warner and Florence (Richer) Sayles.
Mr. Sayles was a 1960 graduate of Mt. St. Charles and was stationed at Lackland Air Force Base during the Cuban Crisis. Ted worked as a Jewelry Expediter for the former Lang Jewelry Co., Providence for twenty years, owned Tops N' Donuts, Woonsocket for six years, and retired in 2007 after working seven years in Environmental Services for Landmark Hospital. He was a communicant of St. John the Evangelist Church, North Smithfield, a member of the Freehill Council K of C, a member of the Cercle Laurier, Woonsocket and enjoyed fishing, playing golf, a fine cigar, and trips to Virginia.
Besides his wife, Jeannine, he is survived by three children, Kristen Sayles and her husband Tomasso Montini of North Smithfield, Melissa Chase and her husband Russell of North Smithfield, and David Sayles and his wife Morayo of Smithfield; a sister, Linda Geoffroy of The Villages, FL and five grandchildren: Alex and Sam Chase, and Abigail, Aidan and Austin Sayles. He was also predeceased by his stepmother Sylvia Sayles.
His funeral will be held Wednesday, January 3, 2018 at 9 AM from the Holt Funeral Home, 510 South Main St., Woonsocket with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM in St. John the Evangelist Church, 63 Church St., North Smithfield. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery. Calling hours are Tuesday from 4 - 7PM.
