William Murphy Obituary

William Bill M. Murphy, 65, of Woonsocket passed away September 8, 2018 surrounded by his loving family after a long and courageous battle with cancer. He was the husband of Carol (Gouin) Murphy of Woonsocket for thirty-eight years.

Bill was a diehard Green Bay Packers fan since he was a young boy. He finally achieved his life-long dream of visiting Lambeau field and watching the Packers play. He loved telling people he owned a share of the Packers and the certificate was issued on his birthday. He also got the opportunity to own his dream car for a day, a 2018 Corvette. Bill enjoyed playing golf and Golden Tee with his two best friends, Dennis DiCesare and Al Allard and traveling all over RI to find the perfect machine.

Bill was employed by Schneider Electric for 25 years as a business manager where he was admired by his co-workers for his work ethics during his illness.

Besides his wife Carol, he is survived by three daughters, Meaghan Murphy Bear and her husband Charles; Kathleen Murphy Swiech and her husband Jason; and Christina Murphy; five grandchildren, Devan and Nathaniel Swiech, Bella and Lilly Bear and Lincoln Murphy.

He will truly be missed by all who knew and loved him.

Visitation will be held Thursday, September 13, 2018 from 5 PM - 8 PM in the Holt Funeral Home, 510 South Main St., Woonsocket. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Aurora Healthcare Vince Lombardi Cancer Clinic, 950 North 12th St. Suite A 5111, Milwaukee, WI 53233. Bills family would also like to extend an invitation to join them for an Irish Wake on Saturday, September 15, 2018 from 1 - 4 PM at the Polish American Citizens Club, 6 Mill St. Blackstone MA 01504. All are welcome.
