Willie Lewis Quarterman

Willie Lewis Quarterman, also known as JUKE, 66, of Woonsocket, passed away early Sunday morning on November 18, 2018. He was born on April 1, 1952 in Quincy, FL, to the late Marie Betsy Quarterman, Willie was the youngest of 4 children. He attended the Gadsden Country school system and graduated high school from Carter-Parramore Academy, where he also played football.

Juke first came to RI in 1964 to visit his cousin Roosevelt and later relocated there in 1973 at the age of 21. He Worked at Clark-Cutler McDermott Co. in Franklin, MA for over 30 years and then went to work for Synagro in Woonsocket. He was a proud member of the NAACP and the Tyra Club. Willie enjoyed taking car rides. He would often travel back to Florida to visit his siblings. He also enjoyed fishing, spending time with his family, fussing with his family, listening to music (The Staple Singers were his favorite) and watching sports. He was huge fan of the Pittsburg Steelers and the New York Yankees.

Juke was a man who lived a simple life, didnt require much for himself and was rich with integrity. When he said he was going to do somethinghe did it! He will be greatly missed. He leaves to mourn, his wife, Simonne Hilliker of Woonsocket, two daughters, April Hilliker of Woonsocket and Otisha Chaplin of Hyattsville, MD and one granddaughter, Ari Jahne Chaplin of Hyattsville, MD. He was preceded in death by his brother, James Quarterman and two sisters, Barbara Jean and Leola Quarterman.

His funeral will be held, Saturday, November 24, 2018 beginning with visitation at 9 AM followed by a service at 10 AM in the Holt Funeral Home, 510 South Main Street, Woonsocket. Burial will follow in Resurrection Cemetery, West Wrentham Rd., Cumberland, RI. Calling hours will be Friday from 5-8 PM in the funeral home.
