A. Marion Devine died Monday, March 30th, in the St. Antoine Skilled Nursing Facility, after a brief illness.
Born in Woonsocket, RI, in 1927, she was the daughter of the late Thomas Edwin and Alice M (McFadden) Devine, and the sister of the late Francis J. Devine, MD, and the late Thomas E. Devine.
She graduated from St. Xavier Academy and Bryant College and received a Master's Degree in Education from Boston University. In 1998, she retired from a 40-year career in the Woonsocket School System, having served as a teacher and then as the Business Education Department Chairperson.
She was a lifelong member of St. Charles Church, where she was an active volunteer and often spearheaded many of the parish's social and fundraising activities.
In addition to her volunteerism, Marion was an avid knitter who enjoyed cooking and hosting dinner parties. In her later years, she took great pleasure in tackling challenging word search puzzles and socializing with friends.
Marion is survived by many generations of nieces and nephews.
After a private service, she was laid to rest in St Charles Cemetery.
