Albert H. Jolicoeur, "Junior", 88 of Uxbridge, passed away on July 24, 2024, at AdviniaCare Hospice/Rehabilitation Services in Northbridge. Born in Woonsocket, R.I., he was the son of the late Albert H. Jolicoeur, Sr. and Claudia (Cournoyer) Jolicoeur. He was the husband of the late Eileen (Cabana) Jolicoeur, whom he married September 6, 1954. Al leaves behind his dear companion, Joanne Whalen, of Uxbridge.
Albert was the General Manager for the former M & H Yarn Company, Woonsocket, and was later self-employed, owning AJ Transportation, Inc. He was a communicant of Saint Mary Church in Uxbridge. Albert enjoyed many years of traveling with his wife Eileen, woodworking, tinkering on automobiles, golfing, and playing cards with family, and competitively, in various leagues. He also had an incredible passion for jig-saw puzzles, having completed over 2000.
He leaves four sons, David Jolicoeur and wife, Lisa, of Mansfield, Gary Jolicoeur and wife, Michele, of Blackstone, Dennis Jolicoeur of Atlanta, GA, Paul Jolicoeur and partner Judy of Oakland, RI, Albert was predeceased by his daughter, Susan Jolicoeur of Cumberland. Albert has left behind his three sisters; Theresa Mello of Rumford, Jay Cote, and Anita Wilbur, both of Woonsocket; seven grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; and many nephews and nieces. Seven brothers predeceased Albert: Emile, Henry, Edgar, Gerard, Robert, Lucien, and Charles.
His funeral will be held, Saturday, August 10, 2024, beginning with visitation at 9AM, followed by a service at 10:45 in the Holt Funeral Home, 510 South Main St., Woonsocket. Private family burial will follow in St. Jean-Baptiste Cemetery, 310 Wrentham Rd, Bellingham, MA. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Dog Orphans Inc., 90 Webster St, Douglas, MA 01516.
