Aline G. Gendron, 85, passed away October 29, 2023 in The Holiday Retirement Community. Born in Montreal, Canada, she was the daughter of the late Louis and Germaine (Harnois) Cardin.
Mrs. Gendron moved to the United States when she married her husband, Roger Gendron, whom she met while working as a telephone operator, and he had called as a joke. They had spoken a few times and got married the third time they met. Aline and Roger celebrated their 62nd wedding anniversary on April 15.
Aline lived in Manville until moving to Woonsocket in 1991 and East Killingly, CT in 2015. She worked at The Holiday Retirement for 35 years before retiring in 2013. Aline's favorite hobby was knitting mittens for infants and adults, and donating them to various charities. She loved spending time with her family, whether it be sitting by a campfire in Maine, going to one of the many family functions, or just having family dinner.
Besides her husband, Roger, she will be greatly missed by her children; Real Cardin, of Canada, Guy Gendron and his wife, Michele, of East Killingly, CT, Yves Gendron and his wife Pok Sun, of Lincoln, Pierre Gendron of Manville, and Germaine Vandal of Woonsocket. She will also be missed by her seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; Chad and Kimberly Gendron, and their daughter Isabella, of East Killingly, CT, Jennifer and Kyle Moffat, and their children Cayla, Hana, and Damien, of Canada, Amy and Jeffrey Francis, of Lincoln, SFC, Jeffrey and Valerie Gendron, and their children Landon, Braxton, and Hudson, of Fort Campbell, KY, Jessica Cardin and her fiancé Cody, of Canada, Joey and Jamie Cardin-Marleau, of Canada, and James Vandal, of Woonsocket.
