Andrew Lee Northcutt, 80, passed away February 18, 2017 at Barnwell Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Valatie, NY following a long illness. Born in Alton, IL, he was the son of the late Andrew and Evelyn (Baldwin) Northcutt.
Andy received a Masters Degree from Northeastern University in Boston, MA and was a veteran of the United States Navy in the 1950s. He retired from Amica Mutual Insurance Company in 2001.
Andy was an avid outdoor sportsman with a passion for hunting and fishing and was a lifetime member of the Wallum Lake Rod and Gun Club. He was also an avid Red Sox and Patriots fan. Andy enjoyed stamp and coin collecting, reading and travelling, especially to Disney World.
Andy is survived by his loving wife of fifty-seven years, L. Jean (Ough) Northcutt, and his sister, Darlene Hargiss of Alton, IL. Andy had three children, daughter Lee Anne Ladd and husband Mark of Clifton Park, NY; two sons, Andrew Northcutt and wife Debra of Warwick, RI and Robert Northcutt and his wife Kimberly of Acton, MA. In addition, Andy had nine grandchildren: Heather, Daniel and Hannah Ladd, Cristina Hendrickson, Jessica Alton and Alissa, Joshua, Jacob and Luke Northcutt. Andy also had two great-grandsons, Andrew and William Hendrickson along with many nieces and nephews.
His funeral will be held Friday, February 24, 2017 with a service at 11 AM in the Holt Funeral Home, 510 South Main St., Woonsocket. Burial, with Military Honors, will follow in Union Cemetery, Smithfield Rd., North Smithfield. Calling Hours will be held Thursday from 5-8 PM. As an alternative to flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Dementia Society of America, P.O. Box 600, Doylestown, PA 18901.
