Arthur J. "Bill" Bilodeau

Arthur "Bill" Bilodeau passed away peacefully, at the age of 92 on Wednesday, April 9, 2025. He was the husband of the late Gertrude "Trudy" (Picard) Bilodeau with whom he shared 66 years of marriage. Born in Woonsocket, he was the son of the late Arthur and Dorilda (Vallant) Bilodeau.

He was a retired Captain of the Woonsocket Fire Department, retiring in 1992. He served as an Army sergeant stationed overseas during the Korean Conflict and was very proud of his military service. He was honored in Washington DC at the Korean War Memorial during an event commemorating the 60th anniversary of the end of the Korean War. Bill also was a Past Exalted Ruler (PER) of the Woonsocket Lodge of Elks and a member of AMVETS and the American Legion.

He is survived by his children, Karen Doiron, and her husband, Dave, Steven Bilodeau and his wife, Linda, and Carolyn Jarret and her husband, Jeff, 7 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.

He was most proud of his children, grandchildren and their accomplishments.

Bill was preceded in death by his brother, Alfred Bilodeau, and his sisters Pauline Bolduc and Cecile Desrosiers.

His family is very appreciative of the care and attention provided to him by the staff of Stillwater Assisted Living and Eden Hospice.

His funeral will be held Tuesday April 15, 2025, beginning with visitation from 8:15-9:15 AM in the Holt Funeral Home, 510 So. Main St., Woonsocket, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM in Holy Trinity Parish, 1409 Park Ave., Woonsocket. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Woonsocket Firemans Relief Association, PO Box 395, Woonsocket, RI 02895 or to the Wounded Warrior Project, PO BOX 758516, Topeka, KS 66675.
