Arthur F. Jalette, 80, of North Smithfield, died January 24, 2025 in Rhode Island Hospital. He was the former spouse of Solange (Houle) Jalette of North Smithfield. Born in Woonsocket, he was the son of the late Arthur and Loretta (Forcier) Jalette.
Arthur worked many years as a Correctional Officer at the Adult Correctional Institution in Cranston until his retirement. He proudly served his country as a member of the US Navy. In his free time, he enjoyed riding his Harley, hunting, fishing, and mountain climbing. He was also extremely handy, having a background in carpentry.
Along with Solange, he is survived by their children, Mario Jalette of North Smithfield, Jo-Anne Jalette of Woonsocket and Jennifer Joubert and her husband Mathew, of North Kingstown; his siblings, Claire Phaneuf of North Smithfield and Roger Jalette of Woonsocket; and five grandchildren, Devon, Melina, Abby, Sydney and Caden. He was predeceased by his siblings, Henri and Lionel Jalette, Anita L'Etoile, Lena Belisle and Loretta Brunelle.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, February 1, 2025 at 10AM in Holy Trinity Parish, 1409 Park Ave, Woonsocket. Burial will follow in Resurrection Cemetery, West Wrentham Rd., Cumberland. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, PO Box 758516, Topeka, KS 66675-8516.
