Barbara Kortschinsky

Barbara (Lechman) Kortschinsky, 86, went home to be with the Lord on December 11, 2018 and is now reunited with her beloved late husband, Fred Kortschinsky. She was a resident of Blackstone for over sixty years and Beaumont Nursing Home for the last two and a half years. Born in Woonsocket, RI, she was the daughter of the late Peter and Mary (Kuzna) Lechman.

Mrs. Kortschinsky worked for several area textile mills, and previously worked for the former United Public Market and the former A P Supermarket. Barbara loved spending time with her family, friends, and neighbors. She loved animals and volunteered at the Blackstone Animal Shelter. She was very giving and enjoyed helping others.

She is survived by her two children, Christine Aubin and her husband, Michael of Bellingham and Thomas Kortschinsky and his wife, Debra of North Smithfield; her sister, Annie Townsend of North Smithfield; and her four grandchildren, Alyssa, Amanda, Amy and Joshua Kortschinsky. She was the sister of the late Barry, Daniel, Joseph, Michael, and John Lechman, and two sisters Sylvia Lincourt and Catherine Young.

Her funeral will be held Tuesday, December 18, 2018 at 10 AM in the Holt Funeral Home, 510 South Main St., Woonsocket. Burial will follow in Blackstone Cemetery, Mendon St., Blackstone. Calling hours are Monday from 4 - 8 PM. Flowers are welcome as well as memorial contributions to your local animal shelter.
