Barbara A. Moran, 94, a lifelong resident of Woonsocket, died Friday, July 29, 2022 in The Friendly Home. Born in Woonsocket, she was the daughter of the late Walter and Grace (Willard) Moran.
Barbara was a 1945 graduate of Woonsocket High School, and attended Johnson and Wales University, Providence. She was a secretary for numerous department heads at Tupperware from 1962 to 1984. She then worked for Jannell & Son Truck Bodies, Woonsocket before retiring from Turex, Inc, Nasonville in 1995. Barbara was a member of St. James Episcopal Church, Woonsocket, where she was a member of its choir for 60 years, and a volunteer at their food bank. She was a 74 year member of the Order of the Eastern Star, and also belonged to the Ballou Home Corp., and Ladies Aid.
She is survived her nieces, Judith Fichtenbaum of Chelmsford, MA, Catherine Winstead of Cary, NC, and her nephew, James Moran of Wendell, NC. She was predeceased by her siblings, Robert Moran and Phyllis Hargreaves, and her niece Debra Moran..
Her funeral will be held Sunday, August 7, 2022 beginning with visitation at 12PM, in St. James Episcopal Church, 24 Hamlet Ave., Woonsocket, followed by a service at 1:00 PM. Burial will be private. Funeral Arrangements are under the direction of the Holt Funeral Home, 510 South Main St., Woonsocket. Memorial contributions may be made to the St. James Endowment Fund or the St. James Food Bank, 24 Hamlet Ave., Woonsocket, RI 02895.
