Barbara Renaud Obituary

Barbara P. (Esposito) Renaud, 87, of North Smithfield, a beloved mother and grandmother, passed away peacefully on November 22, 2024, the day that would have marked her sixty-sixth wedding anniversary with her late husband, Normand H. Renaud. Surrounded by the love of her family, Barbara departed this life with the same grace that defined her.

Born on March 17, 1937, in Woonsocket, Rhode Island, she was the daughter of the late Evo and Carmela (Suffoletto) Esposito. Barbara was a beacon of kindness, strength, and stability, whose life was centered on faith, family, and service to others.

Barbara began her career in finance at Christian & Co. CPA firm before spending over 20 years at Bank of America. Together with her husband, Normand, she turned their sons' passion for sports into a thriving business, operating several arena hockey shops in Massachusetts and Rhode Island, including their flagship store at Mount Saint Charles Academy.

Upon retirement, Barbara spent more than 15 winters in Naples, Florida, enjoying time with friends and attending San Marco Church. A devout Catholic, she found joy and peace in praying the rosary daily and was a devoted parishioner of St. Anthony's Church. Barbara served on various committees, including finance and fundraising, and generously volunteered her time to support causes close to her heart.

Her home was a haven of love, filled with cherished traditions, especially her Sunday Italian meals, where she created lasting memories for her family.

Barbara is survived by her sons, Ronald N. Renaud and his wife Eileen of North Smithfield, and John D. Renaud and his wife Elizabeth of Aldie, Virginia; her grandchildren, Marisa N. Vicario and her husband Nicholas of Lincoln, Rhode Island, Ronald N. Renaud II and his wife Kelsey of Lincoln, Rhode Island, Michelle Renaud of London, England, and Dominique Renaud and her fiancé Joshua Walker of North Carolina; and her two great-grandchildren, Francesca Vicario and Noah Walker.
